Reviews
Spent the weekend at the nearby La Jarnoise and was recommended to come to the Abbey from a friend who said the monks make fabulous cheeses. And God must certainly be smiling down on the cows of this place, because its been 9 days and I can't stop thinking of these cheeses! Get the sampler box from the gift shop, you won't be disappointed! The church itself was a bit dull and you can't actually go through the vast Abbey grounds, but go down the path that continues past the church to get a beautiful view of the Monestary from the river below. If you continue on, there's a really lovely 1hr hike that takes you around (follow the fence). We actually came back the following day to hike the path along the gorge and it was amazing.
Nice short trail around.
Abbey surprisingly modern.
Cheese really good
You don't end up in this place by mistake, relatively modern abbey nestled in the middle of the forest. Monks here are selling all your usual monastic products plus their own cheese & dairy products. Very quiet and peaceful place!
Very beautiful site to visit. And if you like walking they have a very beautiful hike which leaves from the village. The name of the hike and the Trinquilline gorges.
Superb very quiet place a great discovery only small downside people who come with their dogs they don't know how to pick up droppings
Very pleasant place for a retreat, meditate or simply take a breath of fresh air. The church is very pretty, mixing the old and the modern.
Take the path that goes around the monastery, then continue to go deeper into the forest or follow the Trinquelin (river). The abbey has a shop with books, abbey cheese and various products
Relaxing place. Nice cool stroll. The store at the exit is a real plus. We stocked up on good organic cheeses for a very reasonable price.
Superb abbey and monastery full of life so cannot be visited. Relaxing and serene place in the heart of nature. Don’t hesitate to go walking to possible places to see.
